The 2005 Griffin Merlot

Our 2005 Merlot was hand-picked from a block of vines on an eastern aspect hillside, catching the morning sun. The grapes were basket-pressed by winemaker Phil Christiansen and then matured in French oak. The 2005 Merlot has excellent dark cherry and plum flavours with a hint of spice. Merlot can be challenging, not unlike our black kelpie, Bear, but we feel it is worth the effort.
